| David Mendenhall, CISSP, President and CTO, who founded GigaNetworks, has over 20 years of history in the industry; starting his career in Silicon Valley at 3Com in the late 80s and running a division of Adaptec in the 90s. In 2001 he moved to Miami and worked as the Vice President of Marketing and Systems Engineering at OmniCluster Technologies and followed that with four years of local system engineering and channel management work with Blue Coat Systems. He has implemented global solutions at Miami-Dade County, Palm Beach County Schools, Ryder, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and many other local companies. Dr. Pilar Somoza, CEO, is the majority shareholder in GigaNetworks. As a Cuban American, her youth in Havana was filled with hardship. She and her mother were separated from her father in the early days of the Castro regime. Finally after almost two decades under that dictatorship, Pilar was rejoined with her father in the US. Not knowing English and struggling for 10 years in the US, she earned her PhD in 1990. Today Pilar drives strategic efforts at GigaNetworks in Miami and formulates corporate direction. Douglas Mendenhall, VP operations, is in charge of the New York operation for GigaNetworks and the Inside Sales group. His proximity and his understanding of the market allow for GigaNetworks to have not only a truly high-availability operation, but to have a closer customer reach to the New York and the Miami/Latin America financial community. |
